Standing seam metal roofing
It sheds snow, it lasts decades, and it is not the right answer for every roof.
What we install
Standing seam with concealed fasteners, not exposed-screw ribbed panel. Exposed screws are cheaper and every one of them is a gasket that will need replacing in fifteen years, on a roof that is otherwise good for fifty.
Snow guards are not optional here
A metal roof sheds. That is the point, and it is also the hazard: a full slope of wet snow releasing at once will take a gutter, a deck rail, a heat pump or a person with it. Snow guards go above doors, walkways, driveways and anything below a long run.
We would rather talk you out of metal over an entry you cannot relocate than sell you a roof that drops on the postman.
When it is worth the money
Simple slopes with long unbroken runs, a house you intend to keep, and a roof you would rather not think about again. It is a poor fit on a cut-up roof with a lot of valleys and dormers, where the labour climbs and the shedding advantage mostly disappears. The full comparison is here.
